Our primary mission is to actively contribute to the economic growth of Iraqi citizens by providing transparent financial services to small business owners, both men and women, and low-income families. This will help them strengthen and expand their businesses, increase their income, and create job opportunities.

Our Story

AMALKOM Foundation for Economic Development is one of the first microfinance institutions in Iraq, aiming to develop the Iraqi economy by providing accessible loans to small businesses.

AMALKOM Foundation was established on December 1, 2009. It is a group lending institution operating in four governorates and their districts: Najaf, Babylon, Karbala, and Diwaniyah. Group loans are available to all small businesses with limited income that require financing to develop their operations.

AMALKOM provides job opportunities for individuals who need to start new businesses. These loans will help existing and new businesses grow by expanding access to borrowers and creating new products that enhance borrowers' capabilities by providing them with capital.
The diverse and geographical spread of loans will provide a strong and balanced portfolio, as we invest our loans in projects that have greater opportunities to create jobs and contribute to local economic development. We have focused our efforts in this area on small projects, which has led to an increase in the percentage of group loans in the above governorates during this period.

Who We Serve

The AMALKOM Foundation for Economic Development targets all low-income segments of society through group loans, playing a vital role in serving Iraqi citizens by helping them improve their economic circumstances.

The AMALKOM Foundation provides financial services to owners of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to meet the needs of our target group and provide them with job opportunities to improve their standard of living and contribute to their economic development. Our loans target all types of projects, including small businesses, crafts, services, industry, production, agriculture, newly established businesses, and individuals wishing to start new projects, each according to their specific circumstances.
